Initialization and readout of spin chains for quantum information transport
نویسندگان
چکیده
Linear chains of spins acting as quantum wires are a promising approach for achieving scalable quantum information processors. Nuclear spins in apatite crystals provide an ideal test bed for the experimental study of quantum information transport, as they closely emulate a one-dimensional spin chain, while magnetic resonance techniques can be used to drive the spin chain dynamics and probe the accompanying transport mechanisms. Here we demonstrate initialization and readout capabilities in these spin chains, even in the absence of single-spin addressability. These control schemes enable preparing desired states for quantum information transport and probing their evolution under the transport Hamiltonian. We further optimize the control schemes by a detailed analysis of 19F NMR lineshape. 1 Author to whom any correspondence should be addressed. The Quantum Statistical Mechanical Theory of Transport Processes
A new derivation of the quantum Boltzmann transport equation for the Fermion system from the quantum time evolution equation for the wigner distribution function is presented. The method exhibits the origin of the time - irreversibility of the Boltzmann equation. In the present work, the spin dependent and indistinguishibility of particles are also considered.

Precise coherent control of the individual electronic spins associated with atomlike impurities in the solid state is essential for applications in quantum information processing and quantum metrology. We demonstrate all-optical initialization, fast coherent manipulation, and readout of the electronic spin of the negatively charged nitrogenvacancy (NV−) center in diamond at T ∼ 7 K. We then pre...
متن کاملFast optical preparation, control, and readout of a single quantum dot spin.
We propose and demonstrate the sequential initialization, optical control, and readout of a single spin trapped in a semiconductor quantum dot. Hole spin preparation is achieved through ionization of a resonantly excited electron-hole pair. Optical control is observed as a coherent Rabi rotation between the hole and charged-exciton states, which is conditional on the initial hole spin state. Th...
متن کاملElectronic transport in Si and Au monoatomic chains considering strongly correlation effect, a first principle study
We have investigated structure and electronic properties of Au and Si liner chains using the firstprinciplesplane wave pseudopotential method. The transport properties and conductance of these twoliner chains are studied using Landauer approaches based on density functional theory (DFT). Weobtain density of states and band gap using Kohn-Sham and Wannier functions as well as quantumconductivity...
متن کاملSix-electron semiconductor double quantum dot qubits
We consider a double quantum dot (DQD) qubit which contains six electrons instead of the usual one or two. In this spin qubit, quantum information is encoded in a low-lying singlet-triplet space much as in the case of a two-electron DQD qubit. We find that initialization, manipulation, and readout can be performed similarly to the two-electron case, and that energy gaps remain large enough that...
